LCD Desktop Monitor Market Shows Big Seasonal Dip, Shift to Wider Screens, Says DisplaySearch

DisplaySearch reports that the LCD desktop monitor market seasonal decline was greater than had been forecast for the first quarter of 2006. DisplaySearch says that manufacturers are split on whether to reduce monitor panel production in light of high inventory levels. Meanwhile, the analysts see growth concentrating in the larger and wider LCD sector, and predict a spike in the third and fourth quarters.
